Meet Our Board

Wayne_Headshot.jpg

Wayne Hackett - Chairperson

Born and raised in California, Wayne’s early education specialized in the sciences and secondary education, being awarded a B.S. Ed degree. He worked in both state and private institutions as a teacher/counselor. In 1972, his interest turned towards holistic health education. Structural integration, the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf, framed much of his studies. Then, in 1977, he met Mary Burmeister, who introduced him to the Art of Jin Shin. Mary and her teachings remain a central focus of Wayne’s life.  One of three individuals Burmeister trained to teach, Wayne has traveled throughout the world introducing the Art to thousands of students. He has a particular fascination with the esoteric significance of numbers and their functions. Similarly, cosmic geometry (planetary relationships) is a passion. Mary Burmeister’s Answer Sheet, her unique teaching tool depicting human beings as a reflection of the Universe, continues to intrigue and inspire him. Currently Wayne lives on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii, where he continues to study and maintains a private practice in the Art of Jin Shin.

Virginia Ridao - Treasurer

Virginia’s journey with the Art of Jin Shin began in November 2018 when her husband was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a painful autoimmune condition. Then a friend gave her The Touch of Healing, which was the start of a transformative path. While searching for more information online, she came across a video where Wayne Hackett talked about the Art. His words resonated deeply with her, and she knew that if she ever took a class, it had to be with him. In 2019, Virginia attended her first class in Germany, where she realized that she had found what she had been looking for all her life. Inspired by the healing results for her husband and herself, she left her banking career in Scotland to fully dedicate herself to studying, practicing, and sharing this wonder-full Art. Now based in Chipiona, Spain, Virginia offers individual sessions and self-help classes in Spanish and English. Her mission is to guide individuals toward a happier, healthier life and to expand the reach of the Art of Jin Shin, ensuring that more people can experience its harmonizing benefits.

The Art of Jin Shin

Through simple touch, the Art of Jin Shin harmonizes our personal energy centers, encouraging growth, balance, and well-being on all levels. Each session is a journey of self-discovery, fostering personal evolution and awareness, allowing us to express the fullness of who we are. This art is not limited to relaxation. It is also about awakening to your potential, strengthening resilience, boosting health, and nurturing a vibrant life in tune with your true essence.

Begin Your Journey

Art of Jin Shin is healing art from ancient tradition. Passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, the Art was dramatically revived in the early 1900's by Japanese Master Jiro Murai. Master Murai spent many years studying the ancient Japanese text, Kojiki, and the resulting knowledge of Jin Shin was then given to Mary Burmeister, his original student of the Art.

Art of Jin Shin brings balance to the body's energy, allowing the body to function better, feel better and rejuvenate more quickly. Jin Shin is a helpful adjunct to western medicine, inducing relaxation and reducing the effects of stress.

Jin Shin employs twenty-six personal energetic centers which fuel the body’s physiology. When one or more of these centers become blocked, the blockage or stagnation will disrupt circulation and eventually disharmonize energetic flow which affects the body. Holding these locks in specific combinations restores balance, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Learning Jin Shin engages one in self study, self help. “It is the Art of getting to know (help) myself” - Mary Burmeister.

Jin Shin does not involve massage, manipulation of bones or muscles, or use of drugs or substances. It is a gentle art, practiced by placing the fingertips over clothing on designated areas to harmonize and restore energetic flow. This facilitates the reduction of tension and stress which may accumulate in the body through normal daily living.

For those who want to become actively responsible for maintaining their own health and happiness, Jin Shin is an excellent means to that end. In dealing with stress, chronic or more recent health disharmonies, and for health maintenance and high energy level, Jin Shin is a simple and powerful tool, available to all.
