Meet Our Board

Wayne Hackett - Chairperson
Born and raised in California, Wayne’s early education specialized in the sciences and secondary education, being awarded a B.S. Ed degree. He worked in both state and private institutions as a teacher/counselor. In 1972, his interest turned towards holistic health education. Structural integration, the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf, framed much of his studies. Then, in 1977, he met Mary Burmeister, who introduced him to the Art of Jin Shin. Mary and her teachings remain a central focus of Wayne’s life. One of three individuals Burmeister trained to teach, Wayne has traveled throughout the world introducing the Art to thousands of students. He has a particular fascination with the esoteric significance of numbers and their functions. Similarly, cosmic geometry (planetary relationships) is a passion. Mary Burmeister’s Answer Sheet, her unique teaching tool depicting human beings as a reflection of the Universe, continues to intrigue and inspire him. Currently Wayne lives on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii, where he continues to study and maintains a private practice in the Art of Jin Shin.

Monika Meier - Co-Chairperson
Monika lives in Switzerland. She got to know the Art of Jin Shin in 2008 and became a practitioner in 2012 and continues to learn and study more of this wonderful art. In 2020 she finalized her studies to become a Naturopath for Tibetan Medicine. She also has a background in finance and insurance.

Cherise Fron
Cherise Fron lives in rural Alberta, Canada, and began exploring alternative health and energy healing while seeking support for her own health challenges. Her curiosity and personal experience led her to study various modalities and become a Reiki Master, a Bio-Energetic Therapist, and a practitioner in the Art of Jin Shin in 2015. Passionate about the Art and the way Jin Shin’s energy connects with nature, Cherise delights in offering practical, healing holds to clients, students, self-help groups, and anyone open to helping themselves feel better on all levels—mind, body, and spirit. She is excited about the lifelong learning that comes with Jin Shin and remains continually amazed by how this remarkable healing art touches every aspect of life. As the newest member of the Board, she is excited to continue the great work that has already been started and to offer the knowledge and experience she has gained through serving on other boards to support the Jin Shin Guild as it continues to grow and evolve.

Virginia Ridao - Treasurer
Virginia’s journey with the Art of Jin Shin began in November 2018 when her husband was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a painful autoimmune condition. Then a friend gave her The Touch of Healing, which was the start of a transformative path. While searching for more information online, she came across a video where Wayne Hackett talked about the Art. His words resonated deeply with her, and she knew that if she ever took a class, it had to be with him. In 2019, Virginia attended her first class in Germany, where she realized that she had found what she had been looking for all her life. Inspired by the healing results for her husband and herself, she left her banking career in Scotland to fully dedicate herself to studying, practicing, and sharing this wonder-full Art. Now based in Chipiona, Spain, Virginia offers individual sessions and self-help classes in Spanish and English. Her mission is to guide individuals toward a happier, healthier life and to expand the reach of the Art of Jin Shin, ensuring that more people can experience its harmonizing benefits.

Francine L. Brown - Secretary
Francine L. Brown lives in Chicago, IL. The Art of Jin Shin entered her life in 2011 during a movement meditation, sparking a lifelong passion and commitment to the practice. Since then, she has become both a dedicated practitioner and Self-Help teacher. Her mission in life is to help others "Now Know Myself, IT IS, IS." Francine brings a diverse skill set to our board, having served as a professional stage manager, project manager, event coordinator, training developer, and massage instructor. In 2011, she began her own massage and meditation practice. She currently teaches Jin Shin self-help courses for her clients at Bless This Body and Northwestern University’s Employee Wellness Program.
